National Industrial Innovation Center for Bio-manufacturing
The National Industrial Innovation Center for Bio-manufacturing was approved for establishment by the National Development and Reform Commission on July 11, 2023, and is the only national-level industrial innovation platform in China's bio-manufacturing sector.
The center is led by the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in collaboration with 34 upstream and downstream leading enterprises in the industry chain, including the United Nations Investment Group and China Merchants Group. It focuses on the major national strategic industrial needs, concentrating on the 1-10 pilot scale-up stages of biomanufacturing, exploring the transformation of the traditional linear model from laboratory to enterprise into a nonlinear interactive model, and promoting the high-quality development of China's biomanufacturing industry.
